Royal Princess Emerges From Singapore Dry Dock With New Sanctuary Collection

Key Aspects:

Royal Princess has finished a two-week dry dock in Singapore and now features the exclusive Sanctuary Collection.

Some spaces, including the Sanctuary Club, are not yet exclusive, but the collection’s official debut is with the ship’s January 4, 2027 sailing.

Other dry dock updates include changes to the Piazza venues, an expanded casino, and revitalized retail spaces.

Just days after Princess Cruises announced its plan to bring the exclusive Sanctuary Collection to five Royal-class ships, Royal Princess has emerged from her two-week dry dock in Singapore ready to preview the collection to eager guests.

The 3,595-guest ship welcomed guests onboard on Friday, October 30, 2026 for an 11-night roundtrip sailing with visits to destinations in Malaysia, Vietnam, and Thailand. Along the way, those guests will be the first to see the new Sanctuary Collection on the 13-year-old ship.

“The enhancements aboard Royal Princess introduce new accommodations, distinctive venues for entertaining, dining and socializing, and thoughtfully refreshed spaces designed to elevate every aspect of the guest experience,” said Rodrigo Llaguno, Princess Cruises Chief Operating Officer.

“These updates build on the ship’s enduring appeal and our commitment to creating memorable vacations through exceptional experiences and the signature Princess touches our guests have valued since her debut.”

The resort-style, premium Sanctuary Collection, which was first introduced on Sun Princess and Star Princess, includes bespoke staterooms in different categories, including new oceanview staterooms as well as select suites, mini-suites, deluxe balcony, and balcony staterooms, all with personalized service and upgraded amenities.

The Sanctuary Club, formerly the Retreat Pool and The Sanctuary, is also part of the Sanctuary Collection, though Princess Cruises does note that on Royal Princess, the Sanctuary Club will not be exclusive until April 22, 2027. Prior to then, guests ages 16 and older can preview the Sanctuary Club space even if they are not staying in the Sanctuary Collection.

Another exclusive amenity of the Sanctuary Collection is access to the Sanctuary restaurant, now open on Royal Princess on Deck 6.

Previously, Princess Cruises noted that bookings for the Sanctuary Collection onboard Royal Princess were only available for sailings beginning with the ship’s January 4, 2027 sailing. Bookings in the Reserve Collection made before October 22, 2026 will enjoy the Sanctuary Collection perks at no extra cost, but that will not include the Princess Premier package.

More Dry Dock Enhancements

The Sanctuary Collection isn’t the only refurbishment now onboard Royal Princess. The ship’s central Piazza space has been updated with O’Malley’s Irish Pub now in place of the Vines wine bar. Bellini’s, the Italian-inspired cocktail bar, has also been expanded into the former Photo Gallery space overlooking the Piazza.

Guests who enjoy the Princess Casino will appreciate its reconfiguration to a more open layout with additional slot machines, offering more opportunities for players to enjoy different gaming selections.

Also enhanced onboard is the Effy jewelry boutique that has been updated to better showcase the brand’s fine jewelry collections, and the other retail spaces have likewise been upgraded with the move to the new retail partner, Starboard.

A total of 20 new guest cabins have been added onboard the ship, including six mini-suites, seven oceanview cabins, two interiors, and five single interiors for solo travelers.

Following her update and this first sailing roundtrip from Singapore, Royal Princess is heading first to Brisbane then to her Sydney homeport for the Australian summer season. In early April 2027 she departs the region and will make her way to Seattle for the Alaska sailing season, before returning to Australia in October 2027.
